Great hotel in an ideal location.
Ideally located in Wenceslas Sq. The entrance is tucked away down a little mall (next door to the Ramada) and not easy to locate initially, but look up for the names.
Really nice hotel and the staff helpfull and friendly. Good sized room and comfy bed. Good sized bathroom too with a decent shower over the bath. Bath towels could do with being a bit bigger (ok if you only want to wrap it around your waist).
Nice quiet room (quiet hotel generally) and a good selection of food at breakfast. Mainly continental, but there were scrammbled/ hard boiled eggs, and bacon. You won't go hungry!
No air con (not a problem for me as I don't like it) but the windows can be opened, which I prefer.
And as with most hotels...the hairdryer was too underpowered for me.
I would definitely stay in this hotel again though. Really couldn't fault it.
Hotel Elysee
Great hotel. A little gem that is located in Wenceslaus Sq. Almost hidden from view, once inside it is very smart, with very friendly and helpful staff. Room was ideal, with everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. Had a wonderful stay and would use it again if we visit Prague again.
Our stay at Hotel Elysee
Great hotel! Right out side the town square where everything you need is steps away. Great restaurants, great shops. Enjoyed staying there. Clean rooms, great staff.I would definitely recommend that you stay there.
Bellissima settimana a Praga
Ottimo hotel confortevole in centro personale preparato e gentile rapporto qualità prezzo buono sicuramente da consigliare camere puliti colazione varia ed abbondante posizione strategica per raggiungere i le principali attrazioni!
Good clean hotel in prime location
This hotel is in a great location (right on Wenceslaw Square) and is within walking distance of Old Town Square and Charles Bridge, and there is a hop-on-hop-off bus service about 50 metres from the hotel.
When we checked in we chose to upgrade to a Superior room in order to get the much needed air conditioning during the current heatwave. It cost us an extra 20 Euro per night for the upgraded room but it was totally worth it. The room was large (3 beds) extremely quiet and spotlessly clean. Yes, it could do with a facelift of fresh paint and the hard wood floors would benefit from a little attention but it is an old building and it is not pretending to be something it isn't.
The breakfast is great with a variety of cooked food, cereal, fruit, bread, cheese and cold meats, more than enough choice,
The reception staff are superb - they go out of their way to help you with any questions you may have. We approached three different reception staff with various questions/requests and each one was a pleasure to deal with.
The only downside was the location of the hotel entrance being at the end of a shopping arcade. Our taxi driver from the airport could not find the hotel and just dumped us at the wrong end of the Square and we had to find our own way. If anyone reading this review decides to stay here, the arcade is next door to the Ramada Hotel which is quite well signposted.
Comfortable enough stay
This hotel is near the city center and conveniently located within walking distance to many city attractions. The facility houses both apartments and hotel rooms to let. Our stay was comfortable and reasonably quiet. Friendly staff and a good breakfast included. Our room had a mini-bar, and hair dryer, and LED TV. The property is a bit dated and worn - and expect to be charged an extra 20 Euros per day for air conditioning. About 400 Euro total for a 3 night stay including a/c and taxes.
Ausgezeichnet
Auch der zweite besuch im Hotel Elysee war wundervoll. Es war definitiv nicht der letzte. Angefangen von der Rezeption über das Zimmer bis hin zu Frühstück, freundlichkeit und sauberkeit!
Vielen Dank .
Excellent Location - Excellent Hotel
We stayed here as 2 couples in 2 apartments as part of a Jet2 City Break. The location just off Wensalas Square with entry through a shopping arcade meant we were central without any road noise. There is some construction work next door but work started and finished at sensible times and didn't cause us any problems. The apartments were spacious, well equipped (including small kitchen which we didn't use), sizeable bathroom with bath and separtate shower and the air-con was a blessing in the hot summer nights. One apartment had a small balcony. We arrived early but one room was ready which meant we could drop off our bags (there was also a luggage storage facility) and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an excellent well stocked buffet with friendly staff. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to Prague.
Nice Hotel and Central
I booked this hotel for my mom for her birthday. I ordered flowers for her to be placed in the room. They were kind enough to add a bottle of chamapagne as well! She said that the reception Michael was extremely kind and helpful to her.
Thank you for making this trip comfortable for my mom!!
Definitely a great place
We stayed here for 2 days in an apartment. The check in and check out was very smooth. The hotel staff very courteous and helful. Breakfast was also good. Wifi worked very well. Centrally located. Can take a stroll out in the square. Would surely recommmed a stay at this hotel.
Perfect for a short stay
First of all, the hotel is In a great location. We barley used the public transport.
The hotel is a bit outdated, but not unpleasantly. It was clean, comfy and with air conditioning. The breakfast was above average and was served neatly. The hotel staff is outstanding! Special thanks to Adela, the receptionist, that helped us with everything we needed with a smile.
Definitely worth the price.
Great hotel close to city center
The hotel is very close to the city center (approx. 15 min walk to the main place an 20 min. to chales bridge). We were 3 adults in one big room. The room was beautifully furnished and quite. The staff was also very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was delicious. Nevertheless, the bath room was not that clean - but after complaining they cleaned it immediately and we got a free bottle of champagne - overall a very pleasant stay. :)
Great value for money!
I stayed here for 3 nights with a friend, the room was very spacious, had a separate area for the bathroom and had a fan which was so helpful in the heat. Each morning we got breakfast included and there was a great selection to choose from, the coffee wasn’t half bad!
The hotel staff were really good and they gave us a place to safely store our suitcases on our last day as we had a late flight.
The hotel is beautifully decorated, it’s really good value for money. The only issue I had was that the hotel was really difficult for us to find in the dark because it’s situated within a mall, but it’s a small fault and it wouldn’t stop me staying there again.
Fantastic staff, loved the room, excellent value
Address said Wenclas square but its a short walk. The taxi dropped us off and we had to walk through an arcade so were a little worried. Our fears were unfounded, reception is small but nice decor and the staff are the best I have EVER dealt with (and I've stayed in 5 star hotels). Amazing. The room was an apart room and very large, nice decor. We loved it! It was clean and cleaned every day. The breakfast was fine. There is a buffet choice. At first didn't seem as if they had much, but they put a little out of a lot of choice and then they replenish it regularly, which is good business sense and ensures its fresh. The hot food was not too amazing, but it did the job. All in all a very good hotel, definitely value for money, and the staff are professional, helpful, friendly and positive. A definite asset.
A most enjoyable stay
The beds were comfortable. Noise was not a problem even though we were just half a block from the main square. To reach the hotel it is accessed via a well lit corridor in a commercial area of the square. The room was of sufficient size. Michal the main front desk person was very helpful. The breakfast was outstanding and varied. You can't go away hungry. The breakfast staff were efficient and friendly. The price of the hotel was competitive and even though this is not a large hotel, it could almost be considered a luxury hotel. It is near (15 min walk) to all the main attractions.
Great city break hotel
Prior to our arrival at the hotel, there was good communication and we even booked an airport transfer through them. When we first arrived at the hotel, we didn’t expect it to be located within a row of shops but it was a lovely hotel to stay in.
The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and did a smooth check in. When we got to the room, it was very spacious but the decor could do with a slight update. We had red curtains in our room, which let the light through in the morning so a blackout curtain would’ve been good. The bathroom was nice and clean with consistent hot water, which is always a bonus!
The breakfast each morning was very nice as well, good selection of continental and British options with a wide range of hot and cold drinks.
Overall, it was a nice hotel to stay in for a city break as it’s also set in a good location near the Old Town.
Great Location, lovely staff
The Hotel Elysee was lovely, a clean hotel with very friendly staff. Perfect location for getting around. I would definitely stay there again. Only one thing would of made me give 5 stars and that's if there were more hot breakfast options for vegetarians/vegans. On a plus note, i asked for soya milk and it was never a problem and always given to me with a smile. On another occasion i was unsure what a breakfast pastry was and the kind waitress googled the translation for me. Thank you hotel Elysee for the bottle of bubbly too in celebration of my 40th Friendship anniversay trip, nice touch.
Perfecto
Perfect location - 5 min walk from the old town
We stayed here over the weekend and enjoyed our stay although we wouldn’t return. The hotel is located in the main square with easy access to the metro and only a 5 mins walk to the old town. It offers good value for money and is clean and tidy with friendly staff and a good level of service.
+ location
+ price
+ continental breakfast
+ cleanliness
+ quick check in/out
+ friendly service
+ good sized rooms and nice bath/shower
- rooms were too warm. Fan was too noisy
- small twin beds with firm mattress
- view from room
- access via an internal arcade corridor
Posizione ideale
Albergo situato in pieno centro, in piazza San Venceslao, a due passi dalle fermate di tram e metropolitana, nonché di fronte al museo nazionale e vicinissimo ai luoghi d'interesse. Stanze ampie e colazione abbondante. Consigliato.
Great hotel in an ideal location.
Ideally located in Wenceslas Sq. The entrance is tucked away down a little mall (next door to the Ramada)...
